ACRATECH V2 BALLHEAD

CONTACT::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

The V2 is Acratech’s more traditionally designed ballhead. I got it to use with my Shen Hao.

Overall, I like it. Actually to tell you the truth I don’t really think about it too much. It just does what it’s supposed to and kind of stays out of my way. Which is probably the best compliment I could give any piece of equipment.

I decided on this head for my Shen Hao because the more traditional design had a greater range of motion in the directions I cared about for a 4x5 field camera than Acratech’s Ultimate Ballhead did. And I went with this particular brand because it was lighter, cheaper, and had reviews that were every bit as good as some of the more pricey heads like Arca Swiss. Granted, this head isn’t made to hold an 8x10 like some of the larger Arca Swiss heads are, but for a lightweight 4x5 field camera this thing is more than adequate.
